STFax allows full remote access by any account holder. Call STFax on any server which contains a 'Remote Access' command within a script, enter your account ID, followed by the password and choose from three options:
4.81 The Remote Access Procedure
Touchtone | Action |
---|---|
1 | Skip to next message |
2 | Replay current message |
3 | Delete current message (deletes the message from the account) |
5 | Play the current help options |
These options are also configurable.
This option will allow you to change the greeting assigned within the Remote Access window. See Understanding The Remote Access Preferences for further information.
The remote access system will then use the 'ChangeGreeting' message to say "If you would like to keep this greeting, press 1. To re-record this greeting press 2, or press start for the main menu". If the caller presses 1 or *, the current message is kept, if the caller presses '2', the current greeting can be re-recorded.
Once the greeting has been recorded (or kept) this new greeting will be the greeting the user hears when they call that particular server.

An example:
In the above example, let's assume the 'Record Msg' command is using the greeting message "This is Chris Wiles, I am away from my desk, please leave me a message after the tone..".
This message would be selected both within the 'Record Msg' window and within the 'Remote Access' window. When a remote caller accesses the remote access system, and if they choose to re-record their current greeting, this would be the greeting message that is re-recorded.
